Arizona Business Magazine and the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits are proud to present a tribute to the nonprofit organizations of Arizona — the Non-Profit & Corporate Responsibility Awards.
Arizona Business Magazine, in partnership with the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, presented its inaugural Non-Profit and Corporate Responsibility Awards. The ceremony was held Dec. 2, at the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix and was hosted by NewsChannel 3 Morning News Anchor Olivia Fierro.
The Non-Profit and Corporate Responsibility Awards pay tribute to the nonprofit organizations that make a positive impact on the community — and continue to do so under difficult financial constraints. Also honored were the efforts of the corporations supporting these nonprofits. Many corporate executives and employees volunteer time on boards and lend support through financial donations, sponsorships and other forms of service.
“In these increasingly difficult times, it is more important than ever to remember our fellow members in the community who need help — and the organizations that are working tirelessly to provide that assistance,” says Josh Schimmels, vice president of business development for Arizona Business Magazine. “While many companies may be forced to cut back on their monetary donations this coming year, our corporate responsibility finalists and honorees prove there are other ways to give back to the community thanks to their employees who so generously offer their time and talents.”
Adds Patrick McWhorter, president and CEO of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits: “These awards emphasize the fact that nonprofits— or, what I prefer to call organizations in the community investment business —are annually contributing $18 billion to our economy — that’s 450 Super Bowls EVERY YEAR.
