Highest Grossing Movies – Going to the theater is an adventure; you get to watch a new film and escape into the story, if only for a short amount of time. Hundreds of movies are released each year, but only a few dozen are cherished and rated well by audiences.

These are the top five highest grossing movies with the biggest opening weekends at the box office; and they continue to be named as favorites by fans all over the world.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest After Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl became such a hit, it’s no surprise Dead Man’s Chest was so popular, grossing $135 million on the opening weekend of July 7, 2006.
